Default What size whipple?

Hi all,
I am currently running a ported eaton m112 from an 03-04 Cobra on a Ford 5.0 pushrod motor and want to upgrade to a Whipple. I believe there are 4 sizes available 2.3, 2.9, 3.4, and 4.0. How do you determine what size will work out best for your application?
Thanks in advance.

How much boost can the motor handle? what CFM does it flow @ what RPM? You can use those #s to determine your needs.

Thanks for the reply. It's a built motor and can handle 25-28 lbs of boost on CA 91 octane and Snow Methanol Injection. I don't know how much cfm it flows. Is there a way to determine that on a dyno, if not how do you?

engine displacement = 5.0 = 2.5L per rev
boost= 28+14.7=42.7, 42,7/14.7= 2.9 PR
2.5 x 2.9 = 6.09L per rev.
so you need to displace 6.09L per rev to have 28psi
this can be done with
an under driven (.73:1 DR) 8.3L blower
or 1.22:1 DR 5.0L
or 1.85:1 DR 3.3L
or 2.1:1 DR 2.9L
or 2.65:1 DR 2.3L
DR = crank to blower drive ratio

This is done solely by displacement and not by CFM as those #s arent available to me but it should give you a ballpark.
