Default 5.7L whipple to 7.4L?

New green member here.. I've come across a whipple off of a 1995 Z71 5.7L TBI (Kit# WI-TEC 3133-93-5) and am trying to figure out if it can be fabbed to fit a 1990 454ss truck. I'm guessing the TBI mount would be different.. In addition, the prev owner thinks it needs new bearings as it was making a high pitched squeel when he took it off.

I'm probably biting off more than I can chew, but can it be done?

any help is appreciated!

im pretty sure it will work. the 350 throttle body bores are smaller so boring out the plate will be done for the 2inch bores.

the charger might be a little small for the 454 but itll do. check the numbers on the side of the charger..

The 3133 is 1.33 L, 610 cubic feet/min, suited for 365 HP. this is the one you have for the 350s obviously.
The 3150 is 1.5 L, 690 cubic feet/min, suited for 415 HP.
The 4180 is 1.8 L, 825 cubic feet/min, suited for 500 HP.

Thanks Sasquatch
I wouldnt be bothering with this thing but a friend gave it to me and seems to be complete except for the fuel pressure stuff.

So aside from needing to enlarge the tbi mounting plate (and not quite as much boost as I would like) it seems like it would work.

When you say suited for 365 hp do you mean the unit would only be good for up to that point? I'll be running edel 60499 heads, pistons tbd, 3764 intake, 2162 cam (292/302, 500/500) and shorty headers. Do you think I will be able to see much of a hp increase with this package and this smaller charger?

Thanks again

If you're still working on this, I believe the older TBI kits just used a FMU and Boost-a-Pump to boost fuel pressure. That stuff is still available through other sources. An FMU can be had from Vortech Superchargers and the Boost-A-Pump is actually widely used and available too.
