new here and need some advice. i have been racing cars for most of my lifebut only messed with naturally aspirated engines and superchargers is something new to me. so i am here to learn more about this as i want to have it working right.

first of all the engine seems to bog when i get on the throttle more than half way. read the rest and maybe more info will help with this.

second it is running a vacuum (20 in hg at idle and about 10 in hg during normal acceleration)most of the time while driving unless i give it about half throttle or more then it will run a boost of 5-6 max psi. is this normal?, but like i said it is boging when more than half throttle and sort of "bucking" when at full throttle.

next the guy i got it from says the MSD retarder is not working. this is a MSD "boost timing master" box under the hood and it has a reostat mounted on the dash with settings of 0-1-2-3. i've tryed the settings and the previous owner was right, it does not change anything when moved. is this something that the whipple supercharger needs? is it part of the original kit for this application. any ideas?

also i went to check the oil in it and i can't seem to figure out what kind of tool to use for the plug. i tryed an allen wrench but that doesnt seem to be right. the hole in the plug seems to be round but it doesn't looked stripped.
is there a special tool for the plug?

thanks for any advice that you guys might have

ricky
