I am wondering if anyone of you supercharger gurus can help me with a question. I have a 98 5.7L Yukon, and I have been shopping around for a supercharger. Needless to say I have discovered that the kits for this are no longer being made by whipple. I came across a used supercharger whose instructions state:

Whipple Charger Installation Instructions for Kits #WIK 5302-5302-1 and WIK 5303-5303-1
1996-1997 Chevrolet and GMC CK Series Vehicles with 5.0L and 5.7L engines

So.... the question is will this fit my 98? I was told by a friend that the only difference in those years is those with vortec and those without. So under that assumption, (the kit stating that it is for vortec) would this fit my 98 5.7 vortec? I'd appreciate any thoughts. If anyone has any ideas of any pitfalls that might be an issue between the 96-97 vortecs and installing it on a 98 I would be glad to hear them. Thanks again.

Just wanted to give an update. I posed this question to Whipple tech support and was told that the kits for 96-00 were basically the same, the only difference being in the programming between the different years. So the next question, if I was to throw this into the 98 Yukon, how would I address the programming differences? Can you change the chip or something? Any information is appreciated. Thanks.

This kit should work for you, i don`t know what condition its in, i recomend contacting a custom tuner. thats what i did, i intalled larger engine injectors instead of auxillary injectors, then went with a guy that tuned her for me, I didn`t want to rely on and old module and wiring from the kits. much more clean and no wire disruption. been working great so far!
