Default 10mm bolt won't come out

hello

i have an older whipple supercharger for a 5.7 ltr vortec engine it mounts vertically on the drivers side my problem is that i sent it away to PSE superchargers to be rebuilt and when they sent it back they had put a new 10mm bolt in the center of the pulley that came with a hole in it for what they said was for gassing purposes of course when i put oil in the supercharger it started leaking from that hole and on to the belt. Ed at PSE said that they had put the wrong bolt in it, and it needed to be a solid bolt "no hole" my problem is that now there sending me the correct bolt but i can't get the old one out of the unit we were able to turn it about 3 times but it is not backing out. we even went as far as to put an old pulley on and hold it firmly with a pipe wrench but still it's not backing out can anyone give me any ideas?

You've got it loose if it will spin but not back out. What's happening is the screw is just turning the compressor rotors. At this point you've got two choices, you can push the pulley hub inward while rotating the screw counterclockwise. The force should put enough friction between the hub and the rotor shaft to back the screw out. It might have loc-tite on it. If that doesn't work you'll have to figure out a safe way to hold the rotor while you back the screw out. I'm not going to suggest anything because one nick on either rotor or the housing could set you back another compressor. I had used the plastic end of a screwdriver int he discharge port to hold the rotor. I'd imagine Whipple has a proper tool to do this job.

Default thanks for the info

james thanks for your response its alot of help if i do decide to use the plastic end of a screwwdriver in the discharge port it seems to me that i will not be touching the lead rotor but only the other one is that alright. will that be enough pressure to hold both in place

That should work. The bolt should not be difficult to spin out. Right now the rotors turn more freely than the threads do, that's all.
If it meets resistance stop and figure out what's locked.
A nice trick for holding the pulley (saw that you had to sacrifice an one) is to wrap a section of on old belt around it and grip onto that. This can be done successfully without any damage to the pulley!
Pulleys are kind of expendable anyway, once the anodizing starts chipping off the exposed aluminum ribs wear down rapidly and don't grip the belt well - if the one that's dead was like that it's no loss at all.
