Default Hello from San Diego, CA

Hey guys....wanted to quickly introduce myself. I bought my 3.3L EFI whipple back in 2004 as the car has been going through a long build process. Just went in for paint last month and I am finally building my engine.

The car is a 1969 Camaro Convertible with the full pro-touring treatment. Current building a 540 BBC to go under my Whipple. Went with the EFI setup because I wanted something that would fit under the hood instead of through it!

A couple pictures of the car (from 2008):

Welcome to the forum. What an awesome project car. Keep up the good work and post some more pictures/videos when you have a chance.

Well, it's been just over a year so I figure I am waaaayyy past due to post some updated pics

Got the car back from Pats Custom Cars at the end of 2010. He did a great job laying down the Torch Red with Tuxedo black stripes. I've been spending the last year putting things back together. Ran into a few bumps in the road, but the car is finally in the shop getting tuned by the guys at JBA.

Waiting to get all of the issues worked out on the car before completing the front grill/bumper and interior. Below are a couple of pics I took before sending it into the shop.

Default First Dyno Run

JBA did the first dyno run on Friday. Was a bit disappointed that the motor only made 530Hp.

Dart 540 at 8.5:1 compression
Brodix Heads
Whipple 3300 EFI SC (no intercooler)
FAST Classic ECU

Car put down 530 rear wheel hp and 662 lb-ft of torque
The air/fuel ratio during WOT (with 5.5-psi boost) is 11.9 to 1 and the spark advance at 28-degrees

I'm not running an intercooler due to hood clearance, but this may be something I try to work in.

How much boost can I run with a non-intercooled setup?

Can you still get the low profile Whipple coolers for the older 3300's? If so, how much does it raise the blower (1.5"?)?

Any other recommendations or suggestions of things to look at to get power levels up?

Thanks.....Eric
