Default Hello from Alaska

Hey guys. Glad to see a new forum for Whipple, I look forward to seeing it grow.

I was born and raised in Alaska, but my wife and I moved to Las Vegas for 2&1/2 years so she could finish college at UNLV. While we were down there, I picked up a 2005 F150 and drove to my brothers dealership in Colorado to do some conversions. The truck started out as a FX4, so the obvious thing to do to a 4 wheel drive truck is lower it. We did the full Roush Suspension along with several other body modifications to convert it to the Roush F150, and decided to slap on the majority of the Lincoln Mark LT body parts as well. I would have just purchased a Mark LT, but they didn't make them in red, so that doesn't work for me.

About a year later I ordered up my Whipple from Lethal Performance and had Silver State Motorsports at the Vegas speedway install it. A few months later, I talked to Dustin at Whipple about more boost, and found myself driving to Fresno so they could put on the 10psi kit and do some custom tuning. End result is we backed the power down to 427 rwhp and 474 rwtq at 99 Deg F after hours of pulls.

A couple months later I towed 6,000 pounds 3500 miles back to Alaska and have been here ever since. I had the local dealership swap out the gears for 4.56 Yukon's, and have had to change the plugs a couple times, but otherwise the truck has been trouble free. I'm even running the originally tranny, and I don't baby this thing.

Never been to the track for 1/4 mile times, so I'm not sure what she runs, but it's fun having a heavy truck with this kind of power.

The next ride I'm looking at is a GT500 and the 2.9 will probably be under the hood before I see the car. Color - red, of course.

Here is a short video of the truck while we were tuning it at Whipple. I've got new tires coming in, so I plan to take some more video of working the rubber down on the old tires.
