Newby Intro with Questions
Hello all,
I looked this forum over before registering. It looks a bit small, like the Whipple fraternity is still young. I like the idea of contributing to the growth in any way I can! Additionally I'm hoping to get a few questions answered here as well.
I'm an off roader here in Costa Rica looking for a solution/project to increase the power output of my Diesel powered Toyota Land Cruiser.
I endeavour to create an elegant and affordable power solution package for my truck, something that is durable, affordable and easily repeatable for other Toyota Land Cruiser owners.
We have different needs here than many driving circumstances. Our conditions require lots of low speed, low rpm "tractoring" with the occasional open road drive. My Land Cruiser has an old, slow turning, NA 4.0L diesel 6 cylinder. While I have good tires, gearing and locking differentials for low speed off roading, I want more.
Given the driving conditions described and my self schooling on forced induction, I am leaning towards supercharging vs. turbocharging, as the supercharger forced induction profile best fits my needs.
I would like to use this forum to expand on my knowledge, and plan a working system matched to my vehicle and desires. If you would care to indulge me, I'll gladly create a new thread in the appropriate place containing specifics and parameters.
